The Sioux Falls Sports Authority and Sanford Health Raised over $22,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Sioux Falls Sports Authority and the Sanford Health Foundation are excited to announce that the 2018 Sioux Falls Marathon raised over $22,000 for the Sanford Children’s Hospital/Children’s Miracle Network. 

Nearly 3,000 runners participated in September’s Marathon, which also included a half-marathon, Miracle 5k and for the first time in 2018, a 10k. 

“We are excited that this event continues to be a platform to promote active lifestyles and allows us to give back to the community,” said Thomas Lee, Executive Director of the Sioux Falls Sports Authority. “Sanford Children’s Miracle Network is an incredible group to work with and knowing how they so positively affect the lives of many in our community truly makes it an honor to be their partners. Also, many thanks to our city leaders, SFPD, Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation, and the devoted participants that made 2018 so successful!”

Each dollar is crucial in making miracles happen for our families at Sanford Children’s Hospital.” 

The tentative date for the 2019 Sioux Falls Marathon is Sunday, September 8. Registration will open in early 2019.

The Sioux Falls Sports Authority was formed in 2006 by community leaders to recruit major sporting events to the Sioux Falls area.
